Christmas offers the greatest hope to a broken world. The lights in darkness, perhaps for you it is the tree or the singing or seeing children’s faces, whatever it is for you we want to find hope in the midst of despair.
Our Christian hope is found in the birth of a baby who was ‘the saviour of the world’. Born to a family not in stable accommodation, aware of threats to their future and needing hope themselves, this family brought hope into the world. Jesus is our Hope!
City Christmas Hope is one small way we can hold on to hope and show this to a hurting world around us.
One. Providing stockings filled with gifts for 60 people at the Streetlife Christmas meal on Wednesday 18thDecember. All stockings and lists have already been collected. Please return to your site by Sunday 8thDecember.
Two. Give financially to provide gifts for prisoners in local prisons. Coordinated by Sixtyone and with 11 other churches we will pay for over 1000 gift packs. Our youth will help pack and another group will write cards to go in the packs.
Three. Give financially to help Beloved deliver 70 gifts (Love well candles) to vulnerable women in the city.
In total we need to raise £2300 to do this. We will then connect these stories of hope to homeless people, prisoners and vulnerable women at our carol services on the 15th December.
