Streetlife is our weekly outreach to homeless and vulnerable people. Every Saturday evening between 6-7pm our teams provide food, drinks and care for many people in Brunswick Square. During the winter teams also provide a walkabout service taking hot food, drinks, and essential clothing to people in the city centre.
Streetlife is the church demonstrating God’s love for vulnerable people.
This year our Streetlife Christmas event is taking place on Wednesday 18th December at the Turnaround Centre in Lawrence Hill between 7-9pm. We are recruiting a volunteer team to help serve on the evening. Set up is from 4pm, serving in the evening is from 6pm. There will be games, a quiz, songs, a testimony, and lots of laughter. The evening finishes with a gift for everyone who attends. Please contact Cath to sign up to help out.
Turnaround Bristol is the new name for the Methodist Day centre. The day centre is an excellent facility providing showers, washing machines and a large meeting room. I (Simon) am a trustee of the new charity and we are passionate about the centre being used to transform the city. We have plans to add housing to the building, extend the day centre opening hours and bring lots of other agencies into the building so it is used in the evening and on Fridays when the centre is not open.
In addition we wanted to express our thanks to everyone who has provided a Christmas stocking filled with gifts as part of City Christmas Hope. Sixty-one, another partner, have asked me to pass on thanks to everyone who helped with packing, writing cards and sending money!
I’m delighted we are taking Streetlife to Turnaround this Christmas.
